Daranee Taychachaiwongse Teng

Daranee Taychachaiwongse Teng (she/her) is an educator, community organizer, adventurer, and daughter of Thai-Chinese-Indonesian immigrants. She brings nearly two decades of experience working in educational settings, both in schools and community-based organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. Daranee is an emerging mixed methods researcher-practitioner examining colonial and carceral logics in education while applying these understandings through organizing and solidarity work in both local and global contexts. Her work interweaves decolonial, abolitionist, and transdisciplinary methodological approaches to examine social issues across the fields of education, ethnic studies, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and political science. Daranee holds an MA in Educational Policy & Practice from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently a fourth-year PhD student in Educational Research and Evaluation Methods at the University of Colorado Denver.
